26/07/05- Mike from Loughborough "I am having reliability problems with my Edwards rotating turret thermal evaporator source. Problems experienced are power connection can not be made after rotating to a new source after a long deposition and sometimes rotating the sources causes a short to ground. Can you recommend a way to improve the reliability?" Reply from E306 Dear Mike, you are not alone in experiencing these problems and it is a very common problem with this source. As yet we have not found a solution even after reconditioning the source, the problem soon returns. The only way to overcome it totally is to refit your system with our TE4 four pocket thermal source. This option gives total reliability and also co deposition capability.
